TITLE: Operations Assistant
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
STATUS: Part-Time - 25 Hours per week
Position Description
The Operations Assistant maintains a safe and secure environment for youth, patients, and visitors to the facility. This position is responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior while working to prevent thefts, vandalism, loitering, and any other criminal behavior. In addition, the Operations Assistant works closely with the Operations Manager to help with the upkeep of the building.
Primary Responsibilities
• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
• Monitor vehicles and authorize entrance of people into the property.
• Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area.
• Secure all exits, doors, and windows at the end of operations.
• Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.
· Ensure the maintenance of lawns and landscaping, including cutting grass and snow removal as assigned
· Assist with preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis
· Assist with maintaining work order records on individual equipment that reflect labor, material cost, and materials required.
· Mechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls. Such scope of work is to be cleared through the Operations Manager
· Assist in maintaining water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment.
· Use hand tools and carpenter’s, electrician’s and plumber’s tools as requested.
· Conduct fire and disaster drills in accordance with facility policies.
· Assist in promoting facility safety program and a safe working environment.
· Performs other duties as assigned by facility administration.
· Provide assistance to people in need.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Valid Drivers License
· Must pass DCFS, State & Federal background checks
· 2 Years of Experience
· Knowledge and troubleshooting skills in the areas of electrical maintenance, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
· Basic computer skills
· Previous experience in building maintenance.
· Must be able to read and write English
· Must be able to lift 60 lb.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays.
· Trained in first-aid/CPR.
· High School Diploma is required.
