LPN - Med/Surg Department

The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.

What You'll Need:

• Graduate from a school of Nursing
• Current Colorado Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) Licensure, required.
• Basic Life Support (B.L.S.), required.
• One (1) year of experience as an L.P.N., preferred.

What You'll Do:

• Performs accurate observations and data collection.
• Medication administration through oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes as well as measures and reports vital signs and blood sugars.
• Prepares equipment and aids providers during treatment and examination of patients.
• Assists patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist the RN in developing plan of care for hospital stay/discharge, as well as perform tasks as delegated by the RN within the LPN scope of practice.
• Recognizes the need for and initiates action in emergencies, i.e., cardiac/respiratory arrest, seizures, and assaultive behavior. Initiates and/or assists with emergency measures involving sudden changes in patient's condition, such as CPR, maintaining airways, and protecting patients having seizures
