Manual Machinist/Welder

POSITION SUMMARY

The machinist/welder is responsible for the machining, welding, and fabrication of parts based on drawings and customers as well as inspecting and repairing valves, actuators, and gearboxes

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Read inspection forms and prints/CAD drawing
• Repairs valves, actuators (electrical and pneumatic), and instrumentation at a customer's facility or at the Swanson Flo in-house repair locations
• Manufacture custom parts and fit all parts utilizing a manual lathe, endmill, and band saw
• Welding of fabricated parts using a MIG/TIG welder - no certification needed
• Operate forklift to move jobs around the shop
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Perform shop duties while adhering to safety protocol

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a manual lathe/mill machinist
• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Basic computer skills
• Basic knowledge of safe driving and movement of bulk materials using a forklift, is a plus
• Electrical knowledge a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements for this position are typical for a medium work warehouse environment including frequent movement about the warehouse/office, climbing, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting 50+ pounds.
