Formulation Scientist

CURE Pharmaceutical is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Formulation Scientist to join our team. At CURE, we research, innovate and manufacture orodispersible dosage forms through sublingual and buccal delivery directly into the bloodstream, avoiding first-pass metabolism. Our products are unique, patented and enhance patient and consumer compliance and accessibility.

Job Summary

The Formulation Scientist is responsible for novel formulation development, product optimization, process development, process scale-up, and production start-up for new products in a cGMP environment. The Formulation Scientist is responsible for improving product yield and reducing overall costs of production.

In this role, you will:

• Evaluate, research, develop and implement new drug formulations and new methods and techniques to improve production.
• Work in cross functional teams to ensure successful development and commercialization of new products, product/process improvement or cost reductions.
• Maintain inventories and archive experimental samples.
• Design and conduct stability studies, including product and package performance under various conditions.
• Lead, manage, and conduct scale up trials to validate formulas and processes.
• Implements continuous improvements of process.
• Assist in the design and testing of new equipment and technologies for improved production efficiencies.
• Assist in designing and evaluating new assays for the characterization of drug product.
• Prepare standard operating procedures (SOP), batch production records (BPR) and technical reports to support the overall quality of products.
• Follow safety and environmental regulations.
• Clearly record all formulation experiments and assays in electronic file and hard copy.
• Source new raw materials and communicate with vendors.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Advanced degree in chemistry, biology or similar
• 2+ years of experience in drug formulation and process development
• Experience working in cGMP environment

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Encapsulation and/or polymer experience is highly desirable, but not required.
• Independent, flexible and high-energy with keen ability to incorporate input from multiple sources and devise creative solutions to best meet the needs of a diverse team.
• Detail-oriented but comfortable working collaboratively in a team-based environment.
• Understanding of USP methodologies, ICH Guidelines, cGMP and FDA regulations.
• Well-versed in scientific and personal computer hardware and software applications.
• Understands timelines and demonstrates a sense of urgency in work and in responding to customers and colleagues.
• Proactive, anticipates challenges, accomplishes what is expected, and adds value to the job.
• Good working knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety practices.
• Clearly communicates verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization.
• Ability to apply critical and creative thinking to improving processes, meeting challenges, solving problems and innovation.
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.

The expected salary range for this role is $60,000 - $85,000; however, the actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, business needs, and other job-related factors, as permitted by law.
