Golf Course Laborer

Renwood Golf Course, part of the Round Lake Area Park District has a full-time opportunity for golf course laborer. This is a full-time, year-round position that includes a variety of tasks. Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.

The golf course laborer is responsible for maintenance and repair on the golf course grounds including the proshop, maintenance shop and cart barn.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Using various mowing equipment including sit-on reel/rotary mowers to maintain the golf course grounds.
• Course set-up operations including; cutting cups, setting tee markers and trash removal.
• Lifting equipment, landscape and building materials more than 50 pounds.
• Digging/raking and shoveling soil, mulch, and leaves.
• Using power equipment such as line trimmers, pole pruners, chainsaws, blowers, rototillers, and carpentry tools.
• Operate manual geared utility vehicles and tractors.
• Use a lift to prune trees and for facility repair.
• Use trucks and woodchipper for tree clean-up operations.
• Painting golf course equipment and buildings.
• Work on irrigation and plumbing repairs, above and below ground.
• Read and follow all park district rules, policies, and safety procedures.
• Communicating with other employees as well as the general public in a respectful and courteous manner.
• Snow removal
• Able to direct seasonal employees, in a safe manner when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Driver's License
• Must have the ability to operate equipment and tools safely and proficiently
• Must possess ability to work in team efficiently.
• Must possess customer service skills
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Knowledge of a variety of maintenance and manual tasks involved in the general upkeep, repairs, cleanliness, and overall aesthetics of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
