Position Summary
Under supervision from the Director of Accounting, the Accounts Receivable Accountant will be responsible for providing essential financial, administrative, and clerical services within our finance department. This role entails processing accounts and incoming payments in accordance with established financial policies and procedures to ensure accuracy in all transactions. The Account Receivable Accountant will play a crucial role in reconciling accounts, resolving billing discrepancies, and facilitating timely payments from clients.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Conduct day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data.
- Prepare bills, invoices, and post deposits accurately and promptly.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in clients' billing issues promptly and accurately.
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients courteously and professionally.
- Generate weekly reports detailing accounts receivable status for review by management.

- Proven working experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or accountant, demonstrating a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
- Ability to calculate, post, and mange accounting figures and financial records accurately and efficiently.
- Must have Excel knowledge (as well as Word/Outlook)
- Job costing experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Primarily in an office environment.
- May be required to travel occasionally as needed.
