We are currently looking for an EXPERIENCED commercial and residential Locksmith. Job requires familiarity with power hand tools; job also requires understanding of function of mechanical door hardware and how to adjust hardware for optimum performance. Organize, take inventory. Ability to work and communicate completion with foreman and/or project manager. We provide company issued tools & equipment as well as a company vehicle.

Must be fluent in English (speak, write, read, and comprehend), Spanish speaking a plus.

We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing as well as periodic spot testing as required by our Insurance Company.

Applicants without 1-year minimum experience will not be considered.

Full Job Description

Essential Functions:

Ø Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

Ø Understands door hardware

Ø Understands layout, drilling, anchoring, installation and adjusting door hardware

Ø Safely operating a variety of tools and equipment including key cutting equipment, hand and power tools (drills, grinders, saws, chisels, multimeters, etc.) to fulfill customer work orders

Ø Must have a positive work ethic, a problem-solving mentality, and a 'can-do' attitude

Ø Adheres to company policies and procedures; follows department training guidelines, best practices, and operating procedures

Ø Works well with fellow Associates, Supervisors and Managers

Ø Follows all Location Safety and Security Guidelines

Ø Install and/or repair access control hardware (cut in electric strikes, auto operators, electrified locks, mag locks, etc.)

Ø Ability to effectively present information to customers & commercial clients.

Ø Accurate record keeping

Ø Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

Ø Required - a minimum 1-year experience in locksmithing

Ø Install and repair (mechanical &/or electrified where applicable) cylindrical locks, mortise locks, rim cylinders, interchangeable cores, closers, exit devices, threshold weather-stripping, kick plates, sweeps, hinges, locksets, door closers, levers, deadbolts, mags, strikes, access control, IP video cameras, low voltage cabling, etc.

Ø Required - a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Ø High School Diploma / GED is a MUST

Ø Must have good organizational skills

Ø Computer literate is a MUST, (adept with computers and mobile devices as required for data entry and communications)

Ø Ability to prioritize and multitask

Ø Must be able to work in a fast pace environment

Ø Ability to work successfully under the pressure of deadlines and to accept new ways of doing business

Ø Safe and Fob Access experience is a Huge Plus

Ø Re-keying cylinders/cores with ability to cut keys by code such as Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, Abloy, ASSA, Primus, etc

Ø Diagnose field issues and effectively communicate what product or repairs are needed

Ø Ability to effectively present information to customers & commercial clients.

Ø Demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and trust with confidential material, information, and documents.

Ø Maintain a unified and professional presence with the team and customers.

Ø Various Door Hardware Manufacturers – e.g. Von Duprin, Stanley, Sargent

Ø Various Key-Way Types and Manufacturers - e.g. Schlage, Best, Medeco

Communication Skills:

Ø Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ø Ability to read, write and understand verbal instructions

Ø Strong customer service skills

Mathematical Skills:

Ø Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability:

Ø Must be able to follow instructions, work independently and or within a team environment

Physical Demands:

Ø This position involves regular walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, hearing, and talking.

Ø Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.

Ø Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.

Ø Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.

Compensation:

Ø Salary based on experience

Ø Bonus dependent upon performance

Work Hours:

Ø Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Ø Work weekends through rotation

Ø On-Call evenings and weekends
