Job Description

Summary

Sets up, operates, troubleshoots, and maintains monochrome and color laser printers and related equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate roll-to-roll printers to produce prints

  • Load print material and adjust printer settings as needed

  • Monitor printer performance and adjust as needed to ensure prints meet quality standards

  • Manage print queues and ensure that jobs are completed on time

  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure that prints meet the required standards, utilizing setup and Videk camera integrity

  • Maintain daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on the printers, including cleaning and upkeep

  • Standard operation of nearline cut/finish machinery to process printed rolls

  • Coordinates with IT Director /Scheduler to receive machine and job assignments and to review written instructions for each job.

  • Receives and completes daily production schedules. Keeps IT Director and Scheduler informed of progress during the shift.

  • Verifies jobs on the computer (piece layout, data files, and quantities, fonts, etc.) conform with samples and job instructions

  • Matches component quantities and SKUs to the job to ensure adequate component materials are on hand before the start of production, supported by warehouse staff.

  • Aligns printed information on stock correctly.

  • Performs repeated quality checks on printed output during the printing process for correct material, print alignment, and print quality.

  • Maintains acceptable production standards (quality and productivity)

  • Maintains acceptable attendance record.

  • Accurately follows company procedures for quality, safety, and documentation.

  • Coordinates the distribution of excess printing materials for disposition to inventory, destruction, or return to the customer. Reports damaged materials, shortages, and machine problems promptly.

  • Performs routine cleaning of assigned equipment and surrounding area.

  • Maintains a professional, respectful relationship with other employees, customers, prospects, and vendors.

  • Works in a team-oriented fashion to achieve company goals. Moves to other functions/equipment as needed.

Physical Requirements
  1. Able to lift 50 pounds from the floor to shoulder height Routinely lift 10-30 pounds throughout the day. Repetitive motions include fanning through materials throughout the day.
  2. Ability to move large 18”-20” wide X 50” diameter rolls along the production floor, rolling them to their print location
  3. Able to bend over from an upright position lift material off a skid or to place material on a skid.
  4. Employees must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours per day.

Qualifications

  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Has a positive attitude. Good organizational skills.

  • Good arithmetic and calculator skills.

  • Computer literate able to work with basic Windows computer applications (startup, shutdown, point & click, read and understand graphs and data presented onscreen).

  • Good documentation and communication skills.

  • Orientation to detail and quality with the ability to identify problems and errors in production work.

  • Knowledge of USPS regulations and mailing standards.

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
