Structural Component Systems, Inc. of Fremont, NE is actively seeking an experienced, positive and energetic full-time Commercial Project Manager to ensure robust on-time delivery of commercial product. This exempt-level position works in our Omaha, Nebraska or Grimes, Iowa office, with typical hours Monday - Friday, 45-50+ hours/week, with some weekends as needed and earns a very competitive wage based on experience in the construction industry.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMERCIAL PROJECT MANAGER

The Commercial Project Manager manages complex commercial projects for assigned clients through our product life cycle. Your day will be a mix of working in the office, over the phone and at client job sites, working directly with clients, contractors, framers, etc. In addition, this position works close with all relevant internal departments to ensure robust on-time delivery of commercial product in accordance SCS client and regulatory requirements. It also serves an inter-disciplinary role acting as a liaison between the client and internal technical and commercial teams. This position is expected to develop a strong relationship with the client to define program expectations based on contractual obligations, demand forecasts, and internal schedules.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading cross functional support teams developing and executing commercial project plans in accordance with Structural Component System's policies and procedures
  • Manages multiple Commercial manufacturing projects simultaneously.
  • Tracks project status, deliverables, scope and schedules providing project updates, coordinating information flow between SCS and its customers.
  • Coordinates and aligns relevant departments to support production and release of product based on contractual commitments and key performance requirements.
  • Leads meetings (internal, external, and joint) including scheduling, preparing agendas, collecting and issuing minutes, defining and tracking actions, etc.
  • Leads administrative requirements for tracking KPI's and deliverables
  • Supports Business Development by reviewing and assisting with Commercial manufacturing proposals, producing initial project schedules and timelines, and scope changes (outside of commercial supply agreement).
  • Ensures customer forecasts are received and communicated to the wider organization on the agreed frequency.
  • Ensures timely review of product documentation such as manufacturing batch records and QC testing to support product release timeline.
  • Ensures any deviations, out of trend or out of specifications that occur during commercial manufacture or testing of product are investigated and completed in a timely manner.
  • Provides relevant financial data on to the Finance Department to assist in appropriate revenue recognition and client invoicing activities.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with customers by ensuring that customers get what is needed in a timely and thorough fashion.
  • Participate with other departments in the development and management of Continuous Improvement activities to improve support for customers and the business in a changing environment.
  • Take ownership, become the expert on each project. The person in this roll will be the primary contact for internal and external customers as well as some suppliers.
  • Monitor financial performance as the job progresses; bring any concerns to management's attention.
  • Coordinate material issues with the customer service department. Help determine root cause of the issue including statements about such for invoicing purposes.
  • Coordinate commercial material requirements with design staff through Project Coordination meetings on each project.
  • Trouble-shoot with framers/customers.
  • Manage your schedule effectively with frequent interruptions.
  • Maintain detailed records and reports of related job information for each project.
  • Strive for efficient, accurate and economical resolutions of customer service issues.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers (Scheduling, Dispatch, Management, Design, Estimating, Purchasing and Sales).


Qualifications:
  • Must have a GED or a High School Diploma.
  • An associate's degree is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • At least 5 years of wood construction estimating or commercial project management or coordination experience is required. Equivalent experience or education will be considered.
  • Strong work history, with at least two years in current role.
  • Experience in estimating software programs such as Timberline, PlanSwift, or Pro-E is preferred
