Social Worker SW or Licensed Professional Counselor LCPC

Social Worker SW candidates should be eager to join a multi-disciplinary team of providers, collaborating to provide an individualized treatment approach that recognizes each child's individual needs and personality.

Our Social Workers' Day to Day:: No Treatment after 4pm!

    • Daily case management tasks.
    • Maintain a caseload of individual social work sessions, small group sessions and parent education sessions.
    • Complete daily treatment notes, daily data input and analysis, evaluations, plan of care documents and other documentation.
    • Collaborate with team of fellow social works to enhance the social work department.
    • Participate in on-going collaboration with the client's team and family including weekly emails, phone calls and in person discussions.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and families by providing parent education, home programs, and parent support as needed.

Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor Education Requirements:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), OR Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
  • Experience working with neurodivergent children is a plus

Who We Are

Blue Bird Day is an intensive therapy program for children with autism, ADHD, and other developmental disorders. Our therapies are offered in a preschool-like setting, but instead of teachers, our "classes" are run by therapists. Our collaborative team provides occupational, social, physical, speech, developmental, ABA, and other therapies to help our clients reach their unique goals. We have locations in Chicago's West Loop and Northcenter neighborhoods and in Wheaton, and we're growing! Our Wheaton location is unique because it has a large outdoor playground and onsite parking lots!

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The working environment may at times be busy with small groups of children and individual sessions with children while other clients/therapists are present. Physical requirements include:

  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs, including but not limited to lifting children, therapy equipment etc.
  • Ability to walk and/or run if needed to keep clients safe.
  • Ability to implement behavior management techniques, based on training provided by the company.
  • Ability to use hands and arms to prepare and perform required therapy tasks.
  • Ability to utilize keyboard, desktop, and ipad to complete documentation required for funders.
