Job Description

The Mechanical Designer will work within the Engineering Design Department. This position involves working within a collaborative team environment to design and document product solutions to satisfy the customer's needs. The successful candidate should possess a strong aptitude for creative design, be resourceful, detail-oriented, and work comfortably within a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical aspects of custom and engineered systems using SolidWorks & AutoCAD
  • Provide and implement engineering solutions to mechanical and system design challenges
  • Understand the customers processes and industry to develop innovative technologies
  • Assist project teams with technical challenges and provide technical direction.
  • Participate in continuous systems design improvements
  • Responsible for ensuring designs satisfy contract specifications and all applicable design standards
  • Review final designs and engineering drawings
  • Informally lead and support the Systems Design team

Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude acquired through 3+ years of professional experience.
  • A post-secondary degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Interest in and familiarity with mechanical fabrication processes including sheet metal fabrication
  • Resourceful with a proven ability to research problems and complete tasks.
  • Ability to work and grow independently.
  • Ability to solve technical problems.
  • Experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MS Excel.
