As the Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the unmanned aerial system (UAS). The RPIC’s duties include but are not limited to conducting flights, operating within the safety parameters and capabilities of UAS systems, applying for any waivers and/or authorizations that may be required.
- Review client specification and/or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) prior to any flight and ensure that the flight will be operated in accordance with the company set parameters.
- Prior to any flights, conduct a thorough preflight inspection do ensure the safety of the small Unmanned Aircraft System, which includes checks specific to the aircraft that you are operating.
- Planning and operating the small Unmanned Aircraft System within the legal requirements of FAR 107
- Coordinate FAA waivers and/or authorizations
- Conduct post flight inspection and complete any required paperwork
- Have a minimum of 4 years of verifiable sUAS commercial operation experience
- Must hold an FAA issued Remote Pilot Certificate
- Must have completed training as mandated by the FAA to maintain currency
- Must have a thorough understanding of regulations and limitations of small unmanned aircraft systems, US Airspace, Aviation Weather, Emergency Procedures, Radio Communication Procedures, Airport Operations
- Must be able to determine if/when a drone operation may require a waiver(s) to deviate from any regulation listed in FAR Part 107 and know how to apply for such waivers
- Must be able to determine if/when a drone operation may require an airspace authorization and know how to apply for such authorization.
- Has experience and/or an overall understanding of the aviation industry
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university.
- Is passionate about delivering exceptional client service.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable sUAS commercial operation experience
- Must hold an FAA issued Remote Pilot Certificate
- Must have completed training as mandated by the FAA to maintain currency
- Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations Part 91, 107
- Strong attention to detail
- Capable of troubleshooting issues in the field
- Able to sit, stand, kneel for extended periods of time outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
