Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer

BCMC is seeking a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer to support a DoD customers in the engineer efforts of the Wideband Satellite Communication (SATCOM) trend analysis and anomaly resolution program. This is a Remote position with occasional travel to the customer site in Fort Belvoir, VA for meetings.

This is a contingent position pending contract award.

This position requires at least active Secret security clearance.

Hours of Operations:Hours: 7a-4p EST Monday Friday, except Government Holidays

Required Years of Experience: 8+ years of experience

Education/Certification Requirements: BS, Computer Science, Cybersecurity Engineering or related Technical Degree

Specific Duties

• Analyzes and defines security requirements for multilevel security (MLS) systems
• Conducts security audits
• Generates system-level security documentation
• Supports the development of System Operation Procedure documents
• Applies knowledge of IT Governance requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and encryption and decryption capabilities to establish secure solutions
• Performs risk analysis, including risk assessment processes and procedures
• Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers requirements. Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures.
• Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements.
• Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution.
• Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
• Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
• Thorough understanding of the RMF processes as identified in DoDI 8510.01.Produce a System Security Plan IAW NIST SP 800-18.

• Document responses to the CNSSI 1253 controls in development of the SSP supporting RMF. Complete a comprehensive planning to integrate RMF requirements into the system development lifecycle management processes, to include but not limited to, configuration changes to enhance security, maintain functionality, and ensure interoperability.
• Perform a Security Engineering Assessment (SEA) with every change to the WSTARS hardware/software baseline configuration, or at the direction of the Government.
• Produce, update, and maintain Cybersecurity and RMF documentation and supporting artifacts in an acceptable format IAW DI-MGMT-82001 DID.
• Develop source code IAW latest Application Security and Development STIGs requirements and incorporate the regular use of Software Code Review (SCR) tools into the enterprise lifecycle.
• Account for and report open cybersecurity findings of the Software Code Quality/Software Code Assurance reviews in the Cybersecurity and RMF documentation and supporting artifacts IAWDI-MGMT-82001 DID.

• Develop and maintain a Cybersecurity Threat Model to complement the SCR process and to ensure that the application(s) are being developed with security built-in from the very beginning
