Job Summary:

The Mechanic will perform repair work and maintenance on cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles in the company fleet.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintains vehicles, which may include the company’s fleet of cars, trucks, heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, and other motor vehicles
Identifies mechanical problems, either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment
Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined
Performs routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups
Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems, such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts
Performs further tests, which may include test driving the vehicle, to ensure repairs are completed correctly
Completes work orders upon completion of maintenance for management approval
Maintains heavy equipment that includes hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery
Maintains and clean and safe work area
Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary
Repairs broken company fleet vehicles and machines quickly and efficiently
Sets Safety example by always following safety guidelines and complies with proper safety procedures and PPE
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to use hand and power tools to repair ground support vehicles and equipment
Ability to follow instructions
Excellent knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to read service and repair manuals
Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software
Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues

Education and Experience:

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods working on vehicles and equipment
Must be ablet to physically access vehicles and equipment either by kneeling or lying on back
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull 50-pound loads at a time
