What You Will Do:
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician accurately profiles medication orders, prepares and labels medications (including sterile compounds), fills automated dispensing devices, squad boxes, code trays and replaces floorstock. The Level 3 Pharmacy Technicians fills and exchanges patient-specific medication supplies, monitoring for returned and discontinued medications. In addition, the Level 3 Technician can independently function in a pharmacy specialist position for brief time periods. The technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment and communicating in support of Valley Health values.
What You Will Bring:
Education
High School Diploma preferred.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience
Previous hospital pharmacy experience required.
Certification & Licensures
PTCB required.
Certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required. Valid Virginia Pharmacy Technician Certification OR Valid Virginia Pharmacy Intern Certification.
Qualifications
Successful completion of sterile compounding competencies and specialist training and competency within 1040 hours of employment at Winchester Medical Center
