Job Description

We are hiring Production Workers and Line Leads on all shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Line Lead will plan, manage, direct, communicate, and implement production strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of the department goal. Ensure employees safety, training, food safety training, quality control, labor cost, materials proper utilization, floor organization / flow efficiencies and all other resources involved in a daily production of department. This position will have direct oversight responsibilities for all day-to-day activities of the department. Special attention should be paid to the area of cleanliness and organization of raw materials and packaging. Is responsible to report any food safety or quality issue to supervisor or upper management with the ability to initiate action.

· Needs to arrive one hour before the start of the shift to ensure Department is organized according to daily Production orders.

· Must insure that Department is ready to run at the required schedule time.

· Need to fill out the Start up Checklist daily. Checklist must be turned in to Production Manager daily.

· Is responsible for reviewing the Kitting Report at the start of the shift to ensure that all material quantities are accurate based on physical counts. All discrepancies need to be immediately communicated to Production Manager.

· Must be able to edit and print labels on label machine

· Operate ovens, mixers, rounder divider, box sealer, metal detector and other related equipment

· Need to set up equipment for days production and instruct employees of daily production

· Must oversee mixer and ensure correct formula practices

· Complete all quality control and production reports accurately and completely daily

· Check out coming tortillas to ensure proper weighs, sizes etc.

· Oversee stackers/packers, boxer

· Properly package the product being produced

· Pass all product thru metal detector and perform test hourly and at change of product

· Ensure the date, count and labels are correct on the packages for the product being produced

· Palletize cases for orders as well as inventory and mark accordingly.

· Weigh and dispose of waste and place recycle in cooler

· Arrange all bags, labels and plates in designated area.

· Must practice and enforce all General Manufacturing Practices regulations, and all proper Personal Protective Equipment regulations. If there is an immediate hazard or safety violation, Supervisors are responsible for terminating the line operations until necessary corrective actions and resolutions have been completed.

· Is responsible for monitoring, operating, managing and controlling equipment temperatures, waste, quality, safety and labor cost.

Need to walk the entire area of the department to visually inspect their areas of responsibility insuring that equipment and tools are always working at the best condition possible. If any issues are found the Supervisor is responsible for documenting and submitting a work order to the affiliated department. All issues need to be communicated to the Production Manager.

· Are responsible for adequately staffing and training for every line position. They are also responsible for providing employee support and disciplinary action when needed.

· In the event that an incident occurs that affects employee safety, or product quality, it requires a management inclusion. Lead will be required to include the production managers in the final disposition.

· Must close daily jobs in Syspro System at the end of the shift, and keep record of all completed production schedules. Schedules need to be turned into Production Manager daily. Any quantity discrepancies need to be communicated to Production Manager immediately as to insure that all orders are met or rescheduled.

· Lead is responsible for communicating the schedule to all line employees.

· Lead is ultimately responsible for reporting activities that affect their production efficiencies.

· Lead must maintain the work area clean and organized at all times, and return unused materials to warehouse daily.

· Accidents of any type need to be immediately reported to the Production Manager. Detailed explanation i.e. Employee Name, Date, Time, Cause, etc. of the incident needs to be documented on the Accident report form.

· Communicate any concerns to production manager

  • Must be in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Hazard Analysis Risk-based Preventative Control (HARPC).

 

Education and/or Experience:

· High School diploma or GED desirable

· Food manufacturing experience preferred

Skills and abilities:

· Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions

· Must be able to count, add and subtract at an eighth grade level

· Must be able to speak and read English and Spanish

· Must be able to write legibly in English and Spanish

· Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds with little or no difficulty

· Must be able to stand a long period of time.

· Attend Supervisor meetings and communicate information to employees.

· Must have computer skills

· Must be able to supervise employees
