API Developer

Credence Management Solutions, a federal government contracting firm, is seeking an Application Developer to join its growing Organization to support a key client - the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).  Credence is located in Vienna, VA and provides world-wide support to federal agencies.  The DLA work will be performed in the Washington D.C. area, primarily at the Credence HQ in Vienna, VA or remote.

DLA has an operational mission of receiving, editing, validating, routing, and delivering logistics transactions for the DOD Components and Participating Agencies; providing value-added services for the numerous logistics transactions, such as network and data interoperability, activity, component, DOD-level logistics information services; and report generation. The Defense Automated Addressing System  (DAAS) serves as the DOD translator that allows the DOD Component supply systems to speak the same language by receiving data, often non-standard, editing and validating the transactions; and forwarding the transactions, in the correct format, to the proper destination

The scope of this effort involves planning, requirements analysis, developing APIs, integration, testing, deploying and sustainment of an APIs. 

• Highly motivated individual capable to perform under minimal supervision.
• Expertise in creating and modifying APIs using REST or SOAP.
• Experience or exposure to MuleSoft Anypoint platform or any other Integration platform are super plus.

• US Citizenship required with an active Federal clearance, or ability to obtain clearance.
• Minimum Education: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline
• Work experience required: 5 years plus
• Experience in software design and development with strong fundamental knowledge of SDLCs such as Agile, Scrum
• Experience in application Programming interface (API) development. Good understanding of integration platforms like MuleSoft and various API use cases.
• Participates in defining of and adherence to best practice in development following API coding standards
• Strong hands-on experience developing web services (SOAP and REST) in a cloud-computing environment such as AWS
• Superior troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong experience with test driven development.
• Managing rapid prototyping efforts with new and emerging technologies leveraging agile development techniques.
• Relevant API Platform certification (Mulesoft, Tibco, etc.) from a nationally recognized technical authority are a big plus.
• Industry certification is a plus: A+, Network+, Security+ etc.

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

• API Standards Specifications - Swagger or Open API
• API Standards - SOAP and REST
• Experience or exposure to Mulesoft API Platform or other integration platform
• Backend Technologies (at least one) - .Net, C#, Java
• Cloud technologies - AWS
• Source Code Repository - Git, Bitbucket
• Design Patterns Object - Oriented programming, MVC, SOLID principles
• Software development life cycles - Agile, Scrum
