Job Description

As new technologies are developed, the Installation Technician must constantly update their skill sets to stay current. This person must model Nextlink company values, provide outstanding customer service, and work with team to exceed customer expectations. Must have good oral and written communication skills.

• Must have a valid driver license
• One (1) year relevant experience preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate attention to accuracy on all duties and responsibilities
• Must be able to climb ladders and roof tops of all types and perform job duties from high places
• Must be able to carry at least 75 pounds
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently
• Must have basic mathematics and engineering skills to perform duties
• Must be able to operate appropriate computer and test equipment associated with installation
• Must have the ability to operate hand tools including but not limited to step and extension ladders, electric drills, hammers, wrenches, and screwdriver
• Must have a general knowledge of Cat5 or grounding standards for residential and/or business environments
• Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check
• Must be able and willing to work in all types of weather including but not limited to hot, cold, rain, snow, etc
• Must be able to work in confined spaces which include attics, basements, closets, stairways, etc.
  
  Job Duties:

• Install and maintain internet service for residential customers
• Submit required record-keeping, auditing and quality control paperwork
• Update account notes and pictures from mobile device
• Install wireless router, battery backup, ATA's and other equipment as needed
• Assist customers on proper use of services
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with adults contacted in the course of performing assigned duties
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions
• Plan, prioritize and organize duties and responsibilities
• Attend in-service training, conferences and meetings, as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
