Full Job Description
Seeking a highly successful General Contractor in the San Diego area on their search for a Project Manager for Commercial Retail and Office Space tenant improvement and new construction including restaurants.
The Project Manager will serve as the company's point of contact both with the client and with the construction team as required. A positive proactive attitude is key for this position. You will engage in and influence the culture and have the authority to make decisions on the General Contractor's behalf about such items as cost and schedule. The Project Manager will also take part in selecting and mentoring project staff and ensuring that the entire team works together efficiently to complete the project safely, on time, and on budget.
Title: Project Manager (7+ years)
Project Types: Tenant Improvement and Ground Up retail and restaurant including church buildings.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Someone who is local in San Diego with established relationships that can bring clients to our company.
Effectively Create & direct the project schedules and budgets for successful completion of each project.
Constant communication with subcontractors for bid procurement; analyzing and reviewing contracts from construction with a good understanding of the scope
Manage project budgets and report directly to CEO
Review submittals, RFI's, and plans as necessary to bid and complete projects effectively.
Set up and implement job procedures and techniques to assure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery.
Has the ability to bring new clients over to AH Construction
Oversee and Develop and maintain a good relationship with the Owner, Architect, and Subcontractors
Provide the client with value-engineered solutions when applicable.
Ample experience
Work with Superintendents to develop safety plans and to implement safety procedures
Oversee and mentor the project staff to foster a positive team setting
Enjoy working with a dynamic company fast-paced
Skills & Qualifications:
Must be able to bring in new business from contacts you already have.
Be able to proficiently use Procore to communicate with subs and team.
Minimum 7+ years of commercial construction.
BS in Construction Management / Civil Engineering / Architecture is preferred NOT required.
Blue beam proficient
Strong communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and design consultants.
Ability to lead a team to meet deadlines and budgets on a consistent basis
Detail oriented; ability to manage conflicting priorities and to adjust priorities on a daily basis
Organizational skills required with ability to multitask
