Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating and assuring the implementation of behavioral services in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and federal, state, and local requirements.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Conduct a file review and classroom observations when a Request for Intervention has been received.
- Conduct parent interviews to gather information.
- Develop in collaboration with the Mental Health Consultants Behavior Treatment Plans for children with challenging behaviors.
- Plans are reviewed with the parents, teaching staff, and other applicable service area staff before implementation to receive input and obtain signatures.
- In collaboration with the Early Childhood Education Specialist, provides classroom support and models appropriate adult-child interactions for teachers.
- Monitor and evaluate plans to measure effectiveness and recommend continuous improvement.
- Initiates and provides follow-up for community referrals.
- Coordinates transition and treatment plans with other community agencies as necessary.
- Attends Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, Child and Family Review meetings, Individualized Education Plan meetings, and other meeting necessary for the coordination of services
- Maintains up-to-date files of children with behavioral interventions.
- Provides technical assistance to staff regarding planned interventions.
- Plans and implements training for staff and parents in parenting, discipline, and behavioral issues.

- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must possess knowledge/use of strategies to access and monitor various community resources for individuals with disabilities and understand diverse ethnic groups.
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education, Certifications, Licenses:
Bachelor's Degree in social services, special education, social work, psychology, or sociology and two years related experience in mental health and day treatment with children; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of diverse ethnic groups.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times
