Construction Manager (Wireless Telecom Industry)

***Must have cellular construction experience working on T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T wireless sites.****

The Construction Manager (CM) will oversee cellular projects for our client T-Mobile, on rooftop sites, tower sites, pole sites and vault sites located throughout the Tri-LA area. The qualified candidate should have deep construction management experience working on wireless projects. The position will work closely with the other staff providing construction management oversight services, reporting, solving problems and finding solutions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Site walks with others to determine feasibility, scope, cost, duration, etc.
• Creating a scope of work for each project.
• Oversees the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.
• Verifies budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined project scope and schedule.
• Monitors progress of construction activities and reports to management on issues that may delay completion of construction.
• Oversees the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to meet budget goals. Keeps alert to possible problem areas and takes preventative action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of construction.
• Ensures the use of sound construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
• Prepares periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for management
• Ensures effective implementation of all policies and procedures.
• Ensures safety is a top priority on each project.
• Serves as the primary contact with the project-specific construction management team, contractors, subcontractors, and government representatives for construction-related activities.
• Maintains strong community relations.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Oversees and manages CM/Design Consultant constructability review process
• Oversees and manages project closeout

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Indirectly supervises General Contractors and crews, deliveries, integration, etc. Carry out supervisory duties in accordance with the company’s policies, training programs and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: planning, assigning and directing work and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Function as the primary strategic leader of the assigned projects with responsibility for all aspects of the project construction, including client and Land Lord satisfaction, schedule adherence, financial performance, safety and quality.
• Primary liaison with field work/construction and the Lead PM in the office.
• Ensure standards are met with the objective of exceeding client expectations through driving experience; communicating follow-up actions to the team as necessary.
• Create an environment in which all associated parties have the ability to reach their full potential & driving a strong company-wide culture.
• Maintain effective communication habits.
• Ensure good safety practices.
• Understand all government regulations affecting the construction of the wireless industry, ensuring all entities are operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority.
