Drill & Blast Manager

A leading construction aggregates company is seeking a Drill & Blast Manager to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in hard rock mining/quarrying industry with blast design, haulage fleet oversight, and a record of successful multi-blast, multi-drill management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides drilling and blasting strategy as the Subject Matter Expert with multi-drilling and multi-blasting plan management experience
• Drives a consistent approach and continuous improvement to safety, community relations, and internal customer support
• Ensures safety compliance with all ATF, MSHA, State, and Local Agency requirements related to explosives storage and handling
• Provides blasting design expertise, guidance, and approval
• Implement and sustain a cost-effective blasting program that improves pit and front-end costs, including loading and hauling, while ensuring the safety of all personnel
• Creates computer-driven blast design and modeling
• Build and lead a team that uses data to drive pit efficiency improvements and drive

QUALIFICATIONS

• 8-10 years of experience in hard rock mining/quarrying industry experience to include blast design, haulage fleet oversight, and primary processing with a track record of progressive responsibility and successful multi-blast, multi-drill management is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field strongly preferred
• Must have strong communication skills in public meetings and addressing drilling and blasting-related issue resolution
• Must be able to provide strong leadership and guidance to employees, direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships.
