The Inventory Control Clerk is primarily responsible for the planning and implementation of the inventory control processes on a heavy industrial construction project site.  This position will standardize inventory control across the project and work with Project Managers to ensure effectiveness. 

These activities will include planning, logistics, equipment and material receiving and release, inventory management, and document control.  This position also involves safety oversight of receiving and unloading areas, including traffic control. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, layout, coordinate, and oversee material and equipment receiving and unloading areas onsite, offsite, and within Connex containers by communicating with carriers/vendors, contractors, site security, and project management.
  • Coordinate the receipt of materials and equipment while verifying and inspecting items, reporting any discrepancies or damage, signing carrier documents, updating the internal receiving log, and compiling documentation.
  • Facilitate the handover of materials to contractors by verifying inventory and location, as well as updating the internal release log, as release requests are received.
  • Manage inventory by developing and updating project inventory lists and recording the receipt and release of all inventory items.
  • Maintain document control by filing both hard and electronic copies of documents per project requirements.
  • Update project management on a regular basis and identify issues that need to be addressed.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience working on a heavy industrial construction site.
  • Experience working in project yards.
  • Must be able to keep accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies.
  • Experience working with and repairing containers, trailers, metal waste bins, etc.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our small-firm culture is a must, along with a tolerance for ambiguity and the drive to take initiative,

This position is anticipated to last approximately 18 months, with the possibility of extension.
