Who does an insurance adjuster work for?

There are different types of Insurance Adjuster jobs for different types of companies. Traditional Insurance Adjusters work directly for insurance companies as full-time employees. Some Adjusters, however, are independent contractors working for claims-handling companies, which are used by insurance companies. These firms assign claims to independent Adjusters who work on behalf of the insurance company but not directly for them.
