Where do zoologists work?

Zoologist work anywhere there is an animal population either in the wild or in captivity. Zoologists work in the field with the animals they are researching. For example, those concentrating on marine life will work on research ships or in labs close to the ocean. Depending on the topic of study, Zoologists may spend months in the field gathering data. Some Zoologists focus on lab work rather than fieldwork. Other Zoologists concentrate on wildlife conservation and management issues, working with local governments, universities, and policymakers to preserve and protect endangered species and lands. They can be consulting experts to governments or NGOs.
