Where do RNs work?

Career: Rn

RNs (registered nurses) work in a variety of healthcare settings. Hospitals have a large staff of RNs to provide care to patients and support the physicians and other health care professionals. RNs play a large role in physicians offices and other outpatient facilities, from taking vital signs to helping the doctor execute the treatment plan for the patients. Some RNs visit patients in their homes, while others travel from site to site when there is an urgent need for more nurses. Nursing homes and long-term care facilities utilize RNs to care for the residents and administer medicines. Other organizations that have RNs on staff include schools, community centers, government agencies, and the military.
