How do you become an RN?
Career: Rn
To become an RN you must complete a nursing school program at a vocational school, community college, or university. Many complete a two-year Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program from an accredited school, while others attend a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Some also complete a master's degree to increase their chances of obtaining higher-level nursing positions. In nursing school, you gain the science and medical knowledge necessary to do the job, as well as practical experience with rotations in a variety of medical settings. After you have finished your degree, you need to pass the NCLEX-RN exam administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). You also need to obtain a nursing license; state qualifications vary, so make sure to check the requirements where you live.
