Where do marriage counselors work?

Marriage counselors work in a number of settings. Some work as part of a larger therapy practice that may offer a range of counseling and mental health services. Others may have private practices which are focused specifically on marriage and relationship counseling. You can work at inpatient care facilities or hospitals where you are part of a team of health care professionals devoted to mental and behavioral health issues. You can also be employed by county or state social services departments.
