Where do hematologists work?

Career: Hematologist

Hematologists work primarily in hospitals. They perform a variety of functions, including research and seeing patients. Your duties are working with patients who have been referred to you by a primary care physician who believes there is something wrong with their patient’s blood, bone marrow, or lymphatic system. Once you take samples, you spend most of your time in the lab, researching and determining the diagnosis based on your observations. Some hematologists work in large hospitals while others have private practices.
