Career: Compressor Station Operator

Compressor station operators typically work for energy companies. You spend most of your time in the field, directly servicing compressor engines or pumping stations. However, significant time may also be spent in an office, monitoring the compressor’s performance and pressure. Compressor station operation jobs are most readily available in areas of the country where they use natural gas. Many compressor station operator jobs are available in the Midwest, in states like North Dakota or Ohio. You must be comfortable getting your hands dirty, as much of this job is conducted outside or in industrial areas.
