Where do building officials work?

Career: Building Official

Building officials can work in a variety of different places. You can work for employers like cities, towns, or government agencies and facilities where you may operate in a separate building every day. You also work in the central office to complete paperwork and assign duties to building inspectors that work under you. You may also work for construction companies and/or on construction projects, or for the property development industry. In these cases, building officials are likely to work on a specific job site day in and day out, moving from a temporary office space or their office in the company's headquarters to the job site and back.
