Where do atmospheric scientists work?

Atmospheric scientists work in a variety of settings, so depending on your job your responsibilities and duties may change. Some work for government agencies, such as FEMA or NOAA, while others work for private companies. They may also work at universities as researchers or professors. Some atmospheric scientists work primarily in an office or lab setting. Others perform significant field work as part of their careers. They may visit parts of the world that they are studying or travel to investigate a meteorological event, such as a hurricane.
