Where do animal behaviorists work?

Career: Animal Behaviorist

As an animal behaviorist, you can work in a variety of settings that focus on animal behavior and welfare. You may work in academia, conducting research and teaching new generations of animal behaviorists. Zoological parks hire animal behaviorists to study animal behavior up close and help impact the animals’ quality of life. Alternatively, you may work in pet care settings, like veterinary practices or shelters, but those positions generally require a specialized education route. Or you may choose to use your skills to study animals in the wild in their natural habitats.
