What is an assistant construction superintendent?

An assistant construction superintendent carries out the daily directives of the superintendent. Before construction, responsibilities include conferring with the superintendent, developers, and other managers about budgets and schedules. During construction, duties are to supervise contractors and subcontractors, monitor workplace safety regulations compliance, assess the progress of the project, and report to the superintendent. An assistant construction superintendent may also have a hand in updating budgets, developing the daily schedule, analyzing material use and time constraints at the job site, and inspection work. Assistant foreman is a similar job title.
