An aircraft structural repair mechanic repairs aircrafts and troubleshoots malfunctions in areas such as the landing gear, hydraulic, or power systems. In this career, you can work for a private company or the US Air Force or Navy. Your responsibilities as an aircraft structural repair mechanic include part fitting, tooling, sealing, and bonding aircraft parts and aircraft systems. Other duties can be to maintain and monitor plane components, align the landing gear, and assemble pieces to fit into various aircraft systems. Your ultimate goal in this position is to repair any aircraft that suffers damage in-flight and return that aircraft to proper working condition for the safety of the pilot, aircrew, and passengers.
