What is an ABA tutor?

An ABA tutor works with children with autism and other developmental issues using a basis of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Your duties include working one-on-one with children, managing a caseload, monitoring student progress, and developing individual learning strategies. A career as an ABA tutor requires you have some formal qualifications and postsecondary education, generally an associate or bachelor’s degree and experience working with autistic children. Some employers prefer you have professional skills certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), conferred by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
