The primary qualifications for becoming an applied behavior analysis (ABA) tutor vary, depending on the employer. Some organizations require a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and provide training in ABA techniques or offer courses to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Other employers prefer candidates with an associate or a bachelor's degree in special education, psychology, counseling, social work, education, or a related field. You must have some experience working with children; roles tutoring special needs kids is a plus. Some positions may require you to become certified in First Aid or Basic Life Support (BLS).
