What is a transportation supervisor?

A transportation supervisor oversees the logistics and operations of an organization with a heavy reliance on vehicle use, such as delivery companies, schools, manufacturers, and transit authorities. As a transportation supervisor, your job duties include scheduling driver assignments, managing transportation and maintenance budgets, documenting all transportation activities in a database, and making sure all vehicles are in proper working order. Your responsibilities also include documenting employee performance and ensuring that employees adhere to safety standards on roadways and during the loading and unloading of cargo.
