What is a tour coordinator?

The tour coordinator job title refers to several different kinds of positions. The most common is an administrative professional who organizes and handles the paperwork for travel agencies and businesses with corporate travel departments. In this role, you manage travel arrangements for clients, book reservations for travel and accommodations, and provide services to clients while they are traveling. Other types of tour coordinators organize travel and venue locations for theatrical, musical, and other entertainment performances and concerts. Your job duties include developing weekly budgets, overseeing merchandise shipments, communicating with road managers, renting the tour bus and facilitating transportation needs, and negotiating deals with venues and musicians.
