What is a title agent?

A title agent is responsible for searching through public records to make sure that there are no issues with the title to a home. As a title agent, you typically perform these duties in conjunction with the closing of a real estate sale. Your duties also include the preparation of documentation for the home loan closing package and the issue of title insurance. You may also be responsible for the distribution of escrow funds that are part of the sale or purchase of a home. This career requires excellent organization and research skills and experience in the real estate or home loan industry.
