What is a technology integration specialist?

A technology integration specialist helps schools and other educational organizations implement technology related to curriculum and other educational tools. In this role, you may collaborate with administrators and teachers to determine the needs of the students and develop technology-based lesson plans and techniques to meet those needs. Your job duties may include helping classroom teachers incorporate computer software, web applications, and hardware (such as projectors or virtual whiteboards) within their daily lessons, and provide hands-on tech support and resources when teachers or students need it. Some technology integration specialists are IT professionals who specialize in education, but many are former teachers who have become proficient in educational technology.
