What is a resident director?

Resident directors are full-time staff members on college campuses. They train and manage the student employees who work in campus housing. As a resident director, your primary responsibility is to ensure that residence halls are safe and functional for all students. Job duties include establishing student conduct policies, responding to student concerns about housing and environment, and planning and supervising student activities within and around residence halls. Resident directors live on campus and must be available year-round to assist with student housing issues.
