What is a reservationist?

A reservationist books reservations for customers and answers various customer questions. Many reservationists work for hotels, but you can also work at a resort, airline, or restaurant. In this career, you take reservations over the phone or online, so experience with customer service is important. You need to know about services and products that your organization offers, and you need excellent communication skills. To complete the reservation, one of your duties is to accept payment and have the qualifications to process check, cash, and credit card payments. You need to have the skills to handle standard office equipment, such as a computer, phone, and copy machine.
