What is a quarry worker?

A quarry worker uses a pick, shovel, steam hose, and other specialized tools to loosen blasted stone in a quarry. As a quarry worker, you may also clean irregularities from the stone pieces or cut the loosened rock into specific shapes. To become a quarry worker, you must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time. Most employers provide on-the-job training, but may require you to pass a drug test and background check.
