As a publicist, you are responsible for maintaining the client’s public image and constantly monitoring media outlets for any positive or negative mentions of your clients. You also maintain a media presence for your client, managing social media accounts, websites, or marketing campaigns to promote your client or client’s agenda. Publicists work with clients in a variety of fields, including the entertainment and music industries, the arts, and publicly known private companies, and handle the day-to-day interactions between their clients and the media. They also maintain schedules, interviews, and meetings, and oversee publicity engagements, such as photo shoots or commercials. There are many different kinds of publicists, such as consultants, public relations publicists, and press agents.
