What is a production artist?

A production artist is a creative designer who can create ads, products, and artwork from concept to reality using computerized programs. Like a graphic designer, a production artist works with computer design programs like the Adobe Suite. Their responsibilities include coordinating with the art director, building a design that matches the brand or artistic needs, and digitally producing it on a web page, app or in print. Production artists work in the entertainment industry, creating and designing art for books, comics, movies and other projects.
