In a job as a payroll professional, your duties are to verify employees’ time sheets and work hours, double check employee attendance for accuracy, compute wages based on their hourly rates, and issue paychecks. You need strong math and accounting skills to perform your duties well, and you must be comfortable sitting at a desk and working at a computer for long periods of time.
