What is a nutrition aide?

A nutrition aide prepares food to meet the dietary needs of patients. Job duties include preparing meals in a nursing home, assisted living facility, hospital, or any other facility where patients or clients eat on a regular basis. Career qualifications include experience with meal preparation and cooking skills, but knowledge of nutrition and menu planning is also important. In assisted living facilities, you may aid residents in planning their menus and sourcing ingredients so that they can prepare meals themselves.
