What is a mortgage processor?

Career: Mortgage

A mortgage processor organizes relevant paperwork and information so that it can be processed by the loan department of a bank or financial institution. As a mortgage processor, you receive paperwork containing the borrower’s information from the mortgage loan officer, organize it into a standardized file, and double-check the information to ensure it is correct and that there are no obvious disqualifying elements. For example, you take the debt-to-income ratio, the pay stubs, and the residency information of the client and put it all in a single file which is then sent to the bank.
