What is a mixologist?

A mixologist works at a bar, making premium drinks or developing new cocktail recipes. Additional job duties include helping customers with questions about drinks and providing recommendations or samples. A mixologist needs to have a strong understanding of all the ingredients in addition to premium spirits, wine, and beer. They may also be responsible for training and overseeing other bartenders. Qualifications vary but often include prior experience in a bartending position or a demonstrated ability to make drinks.
